Nitpicks:
* I decided to try putting all of my longer translation notes in the
opening credits, so they wouldn't distract from the show... but not
only
did I make the font too small to account for motion blur from text
scrolling, but I also have it scrolling a bit too fast. Grah!! Oh
well... I guess ya' live, ya' learn. (:
* The video quality gets HORRIBLY grainy toward the end. I can't
account for this, as I did nothing different during encoding this time
than I did for episodes 3 and 4.
* For some reason, my mind blanked on the phrase "old fogey," and I
spelled it "old fogie." Not a big deal, but it really bothers me. (:
Note than a ver2 now exists, available as part of a pack with episodes
3 and 4. All of the above-mentioned nitpicks have now been corrected
(save for the video quality getting horribly grainy toward the end,
which I can't explain). (:
Overall:
This is a pretty funny episode, with a lot of great lines in it...
unfortunately, a lot of those great lines were a real pain in the arse
to translate. (: I'd like to seriously thank Natsuko Kobayashi and
Sasuketea's friend for their immense help with phrases that eluded my
dictionary (or my ears), and my friends Michelle, Kelly, and James for
helping me phrase things in a more natural way. I'm really proud of how
this turned out, and I might even go so far as to say it's one of my
best translations yet. And though it'll be a while before I get to
episode 6, I'm really looking forward to it, because I REALLY like that
episode. (:
