GHOSTS OF SOCIETY PRESENT by Thomas Lipschultz 10/31/97 Ode to the red man with the bumbling belly, The beard and the coat and the laugh. Ode to the red man bearing gifts to good children, The symbol of Christ's birth That no child knows. Ode to the white rabbit with the bouncing body, Bearing eggs with vibrant designs. Ode to the white rabbit as he hops down the road, The symbol of Christ's return That no child knows. Ode to the parent who tells them such things, To he with reality defined. Ode to the parent who breaks them again, The symbol of God's galaxy That no child knows. Ode to the fairy who takes children's teeth, and to the dentists who pay. Ode to the parent with quarters aplenty... This is not the way.
